BP sprays more chemicals into the oil leak in order to contain it

Gulf Coast, May 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) BP is now using a remote controlled submarine to shoot chemical dispersant into the area of the massive undersea oil leak, that is now threatening to get out of hand. At least 3.5 million gallons of crude oil have leaked into the Gulf of Mexico since a drilling rig blast on the 20th of April. BP officials also said it has spent about $350 million so far, since the April 20 accident.

That money seems not to have done anything to stop the leak that threatens to surpass the Exxon Valdex disaster, as the worst US oil spill ever. Engineers at BP said that they are “trying anything people can think of” to contain the leak. A giant dome that was installed to siphon the leak failed after the oil crystallized and rendered the device totally useless.

BP’s officials said that their other alternative was to use a smaller box than the dome that failed. BP also added that the dispersant spray have been approved by the EPA who had earlier refused two other sprays.

Engineers are now trying their very best to fix the problem and they seem to be racing against time. If the leak is not fixed, the disaster will be very damaging for all the people who are living on the Gulf Coast.
