Another blazing day in Delhi (Lead)

New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) There was no respite from the blazing heat in the national capital Friday with mercury touching 44.4 degrees Celsius — four notches above what is the average for this time of the season.

Also, the difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures was only 10.1 degrees Celsius, making for the hottest 24 hours, said the India Meteorological Department.

While the maximum temperature was a degree lower than the temperature Thursday, the minimum temperature at 34.3 degrees Celsius was seven notches above average.

The department has forecast duststorm and lightning Saturday evening.

It also said that the maximum and minimum temperatures were likely to hover between 43 and 32 degrees Celsius.
