After season’s lowest, a warmer Christmas morn
December 25th, 2009 - 12:59 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 25 (IANS) Delhi residents woke up to a warmer Christmas morn Friday, a day after the minimum temperature dipped to the season’s lowest at 6.1 degrees Celsius.
The mercury rose slightly to 7.4 degrees Celsius Friday.
“The minimum temperature recorded Friday morning was a notch below the average for this time of the year, at 7.4 degrees Celsius, but it was higher than the last few days,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) told IANS.
The minimum temperature recorded Thursday was 6.1 degrees Celsius, the lowest in the season.
“There was a shallow fog in the morning which reduced the visibility to 500 metres at 8 a.m., the official added.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 23 degree Celsius. “Fluctuations in the temperatures will be observed over the next few days.”
