Adverse weather conditions close OR 18 in Oregon

WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OREGON (BNO NEWS) – Icy conditions and multiple crashes have closed down Salmon River Highway (OR 18) near Grande Ronde, Oregon on Tuesday, local authorities said.

Crews are on scene, and OR 18 is closed from mile post 6 until mile post 21.

An estimate for reopening is unavailable at this time, informed Joanna Ridgway, Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Community Affairs Representative.

Drivers are advised to delay traveling through the area or to use alternate routes. If travel is necessary, chains or traction tires should be used.
