Accuweather Experts Issued Weather Alert

Staunton, Dec. 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) People in Staunton has experienced a snow filled weekend before Christmas as a snow cover of almost 2 feet covered up the road. According to the records, the region has not received such a huge snowfall for more than a decade. Accuweather observers had already issued weather alert so that people can take necessary precautions to avoid harm.
The latest report issued by the Accuweather services, mentioned that a snow cover of 22 inches has accumulated on the roads of Staunton and the people should stay indoor to avoid any kind of accidents. The reports also indicated that Waynesboro has received the maximum snowfall and records 27 inches thick snow. Reports of snowfall came from different region and the National Guards of Virginia were called to help people reach their destinations safely.
According to the latest report, no one has informed about any death or injury from any accident in the snow blocked roads. Yet, many motorists were stranded on the roads after the snowfall. Some also sought emergency medical assistance. As weather alerts have been issued beforehand, most of the people residing in this region were not interested to take unnecessary chances and remained indoors.
People had stocked the commodities of regular use so that they do not have to face any inconvenience if the shops do not open due to the extreme weather conditions. As people could not come out for the unfavorable weather conditions, the Saturday sale before Christmas might have been affected somewhat. Many retailers bestowed a lot of hope upon this weekend shopping and they have been really disappointed because of the winter weather.
