Zune PC software likely to become Windows Phone 7’s iTunes
September 21st, 2010 - 9:48 pm ICT by Sampurn WireSeptember 21, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Windows Phone 7 is almost finished and Microsoft is aiming to take on apple with their new product. It seems that Microsoft has finally managed to get its act together and now they want to provide the customers with a seamless user experience. The Windows 7 phones will be able to sync with the PC thanks to the new Zune software that will be released along with the smart phones.
The spokesperson from Microsoft said that the new Zune software will not have a Mac version. Although that might sound a bit obstructive to the global acceptance of the Windows 7 smartphone, Microsoft claims that users can still use the drag and drop functionality. The Mac users will need a Windows PC to sync the phone with the video or music library. A windows PC will be required to upgrade the Phone’s software as well.
The new Zune software v4.7 will be rolled out at the same time as the new Windows phone Operating System. The Zune software is slated to have added functionality that will make it a mighty opponent to iTunes. The new Zune version will be available for free download from the Microsoft website and it will help users manage their personal collection of movies, music, videos, applications and podcasts in a few easy steps.
The new Zune software will also enable instant streaming of hi-definition movies without any download time. The new Zune software has added compatibility with Windows 7 phone OS so we can expect a bug-free experience. Although an exact date for the launch of Windows Phone 7 has not been declared yet, sources suggest that we can expect it to launch by October 2010.
The news mobile operating system from Microsoft may make it harder for iOS and iPhone with some new competition in the market. Will Windows Phone 7 become the next big thing in the gadget world? We will just have to wait and see.
