zombielandOct 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ruben Fleischer’s “Zombieland” seems to be settling down immensely well with the viewers. Going by the looks of it, viewers seem to have taken a definite liking for this action- comedy regarding the living dead and their supposed victims turned hunters. As the weekend sets in, it is quite evident that “Zombieland” is going to be a big scorer.

Seems like the movie’s biggest USP is the fact that it has not adhered to any particular norm or agenda as such, in spite of which it has been successful in maintaining a smooth flow throughout. For, in spite of having an excessively used and worn out base plot the centers on zombies, the film scores tons. The zombie flick has also taken the liberty to flaunt quite openly what would otherwise be regarded as the “rules of all zombie movies.”

However, one basic guideline that it has not logically messed up is that, to kill a living dead one has to destroy its brain. This has been the core of all famous and not so famous zombie movie, and the cast and crew thought well not to have it done away with.

Another major draw for the movie are the stellar performances by the immensely talented line up actors. Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin, all have given excellent, overwhelming performances that make the “make-believe” scenario appear sane and acceptable enough. The cast’s biggest strength lies in the fact that they manage to genuinely induce fear and scare the viewers and at the same time ignite gleeful mirth, when required, all in sync. Put together well, “Zombieland” can take the place of a masterpiece in its specific genre, which has till now been lacking.
