Oct 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Some bands never take rest and Zion 1 is definitely one of them. Ever since the hip hop duo band was launched in 2000, the band has launched six full length albums and many more mixed tapes. And now their fans would be excited to know that the band is all set to launch their seventh album on November 9. The new album has been entitled as “Atomic Clock”.
The new album will be more innovative than their last albums. It will be an innovative blend of dub, moody and reggae. The two band members Baba Zumbi and Amp Live are known for their honest and stabbing lyrics. The album has taken inspiration from the classic artists Max Romeo and The Congos. “Atomic Clock” would be another mile stone for the band as they have hired live musicians and guest artists for the first time. This time the band is going to feature vocalists like Courtney Holiday and Crystal Monee Hall, reggae band Rebelution, along with Locksmith and Macklemore. Where there last album “The Takeover” released in 2009, was based more on party fun and frivolous sides of life, this new album is more reflective, internal, detailed and introspective. Baba Zumbi, who is popularly known as Zion says that art is not about living in the past, and therefore they did not want to recreate what they did in the last album.
The two band member said that “Atomic Clock” has been so named considering the importance of time in human life. According to them the time is speeding up and is in a constant process of contraction and dilation. In such a scenario, Atomic Clock is the most precise timing device. The two artists are really excited about the album.
