Yusuf Islam accuses Coldplay of stealing his tune

London, May 4 (ANI): Brit musician Cat Stevens, known as Yusuf Islam, has accused Brit band Coldplay of using his 1970s track ‘Foreigner Suite’ to make their mega hit Viva La Vida.
Yusuf is the third person to claim that Chris Martin and his group have ripped them off.
“There’s been this argument about Coldplay stealing this melody from Joe Satriani, but, if you listen to it, it’s mine! It’s the Foreigner Suite, it is!” the Sun quoted him as saying.
American guitarist, Satriani has already launched legal proceedings against the quartet, alleging his 2004 song ‘If I Could Fly’ forms the lads’ global smash.
The strummer claims it incorporates “substantial original portions” of his song and is seeking “any and all profits” from the track.
And now Yusuf believes there is a connection between his 18-minute ditty and the lads’ tune. (ANI)
