Yoko Ono’s most passionate commitment - promoting Lennon’s legacy
October 9th, 2010 - 5:02 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, Oct 9 (ANI): British artist-cum-peace activist Yoko Ono has revealed that after her husband John Lennon passed away, she spent her time not in wallowing his absence but in promoting his legacy.
Ono, 77, started promoting his legacy soon after he was murdered in 1980, and she has endorsed and overseen many of the Lennon tributes building to October 9, which would have been his 70th birthday.
“I think many women fill the space with work, becoming workaholics,” the Herald Sun quoted her as saying.
“Void is not the word. I still feel his spirit. I missed him so much that doing something for John became a sheer pleasure, even if it became my whole life,” she stated.
Ono will be in Iceland to perform and light the Imagine Peace Tower, a stone monument erected in remembrance of Lennon in 2007. (ANI)
