July 28th, 2010 - 8:44 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, July 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Yoko Ono is all set to oppose the parole of John Lennon’s killer - Mark David Chapman.
It may be recalled that Yoko Ono has critically refused to agree to any parole for Mark David Chapman throughout the years and her mind has not changed over the issue even now. According to Daily News, her attorney Peter Shukat said that she’s sent a new letter to the parole authorities.
It ought to be mentioned that John Lennon died from gunshot wounds in December 1980 from a recording session in the studio. He was with Ono when he got shot around the popular Dakota building west of New York’s Central Park.
Chapman was sentenced to a 20 years to life imprisonment and has tried and failed to get parole in the past and now he’s applied again. Every time he made an application, Ono wrote a letter to oppose it and she hasn’t changed her mind about that.
In the letter to the parole authorities, Ono wrote that if Chapman is released, “I am afraid it will bring back the nightmare, the chaos and confusion once again. Myself and John’s two sons would not feel safe for the rest of our lives.”
