Aug 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Yoko Ono, the widow of famous former Beatles singer John Lennon, does not want her husband’s killer to come out on parole. Even after three decades of the death of John Lennon, Yoko Ono maintains that Mark David Chapman remains a potential threat not only to her, but also to other family members and perhaps even for himself. Although she did not elaborate on the matter much, 77-year-old Yoko Ono maintained that she was trying to be “practical” in asking the court to deny Mark David Chapman with a parole order.
Mark David Chapman’s filing for parole is scheduled for a review this month at New York State. The killer of the legendary singer John Lennon had been repeatedly denied earlier. However, in his last parole hearing, Mark David Chapman had maintained that he understands the gravity of crime committed by him and maintained that he was ashamed and sorry for gunning down the former Beatles singer. The killer also mentioned that he is a changed man now. Mark David Chapman had fatally shot the pop legend outside his Manhattan apartment building on Dec. 8, 1980.
Yoko Ono expressed her views over the matter at a meeting on Thursday of the Television Critics Association where she came to discuss a new PBS documentary on John Lennon’s family and artistic life. The documentary will focus on the life of John Lennon in New York during 1970s. As per the producer of the documentary, “Lennon NYC” will include rare studio recordings of the late singer along with home movies and concert film outtakes.
