Yesteryears Malayalam actress Adoor Pankajam dies
June 27th, 2010 - 1:12 am ICT by IANSAdoor (Kerala), June 26 (IANS) Malayalam actress Adoor Pankajam passed away in Kerala’s Adoor town late Saturday, family sources said. She was 85.
She breathed her last at her son’s home here.
In a career spanning more than four decades, Pankajam acted in close to 400 films and is best known for her role in the National Award winning Malayalam film “Chemmen” in 1965.
Her sister Adoor Bhavani was also an actress.
In 2008, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy honoured Pankajam and Bhavani for their overall contributions to theatre and drama.
The last rites would be conducted here Sunday afternoon.
