new-york-paradeNov. 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Yankees won the World Championship Series and will be now marching in a victory parade. The parade will take place on the 5th of November on Friday. The parade is scheduled to begin at 11 in the morning. They will parade down the Canyon of Heroes in Manhattan. It is located in lower Broadway and Financial District and is famously known as the one that holds the ticker-tape parades.

The New York Yankees wrapped up a 7-6 victory against the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 6 of the World Series, thus bringing home the 27th World Series championship. The mood was festive almost from the beginning, with supporters cheering the Yankees amidst the strains of the national anthem sung by Mary J. Bilge. Mayor Bloomberg congratulated the Yankees on their win and said that they had made the city proud. He said that the Yankees will be awarded with the only thing sweeter than a home victory, a parade down the Canyon of Heroes.

The parade will start at the Battery Place near Broadway and continue towards the North to the Chambers Street. All the way, the stars of the show, Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jetters and the rest of the team that brought glory home will be showered with confetti. The procession would then carry on to the City Plaza, where the team will be presented with the key to the city. Mayor Nutters will be present, donning a Yankees jersey and will paint a mural on Albert Einstein School along with Bloomberg. A large screen would be set up to enable the public to watch the City Hall ceremony. All the pavements of the parade rout will be open for the public to view it.
