Aug 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The media and fans of the teenage singing sensation Joe McElderry were startled to hear the news that the “X-Factor” winner is a gay. Media has been speculating about his orientation when the hackers hacked in his social networking account and wrote about his sexual preference and then the winner himself posted the truth on the web. The 19 year old singer admitted that the incident on his social networking site was the turning point which made him realize his sexual orientation.

Joe McElderry wrote on his social networking site that he told his mother about his feeling when they were on the train and his mother was fine with it. He wrote that after confessing it to his mother he had been quiet for sometime and said that he had nothing to do with the social networking site’s revelation in the first instance. When the hackers hacked in his profile they wrote on his wall that he is involved in unrestrained indulgence of sexual activities, this news spread like wild fire leading the media speculate about his orientation.

Joe McElderry also added in his social networking site after restoring his profile from the hackers that he is proud to be a “gay”. He also in one of his interviews to a reputed media source said that when he was doing “X-Factor” he was not sure and genuinely thought he was not a gay but later he realized that he actually is. He mentioned that it is a liberating feeling for him. The singer also mentioned that his parents are supportive and they respect his decision. Joe McElderry said that he is presently not seeing anybody but he is open to the idea of dating if he ever comes across his “Mr.Right”.
