After much wait and anticipation, the veils were taken off the reality show named ‘X Factor’ and the opening Live show enthralled the viewers. The song selection of the participants was also liked by the viewers to a large extent. Mary Byrne, one of the much loved contestant sang ‘This Is A Man’s World’ and it mesmerized the viewers profusely. They loved the performance very much and some even went on to say she could turn out to be the Susan Boyle of next generation. This year the judges can pick one candidate each from the rejected lot which adds some variety to the show.
Cher Lloyd sang ‘Dub Be Good To Me’ and some of the viewers said that it was the first time they heard the song. She has tremendous screen presence but possibly could do better with a more suitable song. Katie Waissel was another female contestant who did not get much accolade for her rendition in the show. Rebecca Ferguson sang well but somehow her song failed to make much impression on the viewers. As for the boys performance, it was a mixed batch. Nicolo Festa chose ‘Just Dance’ by pop singer Lady Gaga. Simon Cowell said he performed way better compared to his first audition.
A much better performance came from Aiden Grimshaw. The cute looking guy sang ‘Tears for Fears Mad World’ and it was a brilliant rendition to say the least. Simon Cowell was visibly moved by his voice and said it was the best performance that night. Matt Cardle sang ‘When Love Takes Over’. He sang well but many felt that he needs improvement in attire and stage presence.
