Sep 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Simon Cowell, LA Reid, Cheryl Cole and Paula Abdul sat ready to judge the thousands of contestants for last night’s episode of ‘The X Factor’. A huge five million dollar contract, a prize larger than any before in TV and music, was at stake as hopefuls lined up in the cold rain of Chicago, Illinois.

Skyelor is a sixteen year old high school student from Mississippi. He has always wanted to be a country singer, although there are not many African Americans who sing in that genre. He hopes to get a contract so that he can buy himself and his mom a house and land, and “hopefully she can quit her job.” It is the first time he has ever auditioned.

As he began “Must Be Doing Something Right,” his music suddenly stopped…but he kept going. His voice was amazing. He did a terrific job, and the judges loved that he did not panic when the music malfunctioned. LA said, “I panicked and you didn’t.” Paula was impressed with him as was Cheryl. Simon loved that he was different and sang what he loved. Simon was also impressed that he did not stop when the music did. He got four yes votes.
