X Factor Season Premiere: The Bad and the Ugly
September 22nd, 2011 - 1:09 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonSep 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Last night, the Season Premiere of X Factor aired with Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, LA Reid, and Nicole Sherzinger as judges. This season’s winner will walk away with a 5 million dollar contract with Sony. The crowds were incredible as the judges searched for an act worthy of five million dollars.
Twenty three year old Nici Collins rocked the stage, completely off key, and extremely high pitched. It was clear early on that she would not be going on. She stopped halfway through, and to do another song. The judges did not let her. They all voted no.
Several more no votes came, including a mother-daughter team in which a mother actually drug her daughter off stage after the no votes. Darrin sang ‘Like a Virgin’ very horribly, with some evil laughter thrown in. Simon said it was like a nightmare, and all the judges said no. The Sonnets, a group of many ladies, was also given a no. Nici confronted Simon backstage, and told him that she sings on a regular basis so how could he say she was bad?
