Sep 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A record breaking twenty thousand people showed up in LA to try out for Simon Cowell’s new singing reality competition show for the biggest prize in television history…a recording contract with Sony which guarantees the winner five million dollars! Simon Cowell, LA Reid, Cheryl Cole, and Paula Abdul, Simon’s running mate from ‘American Idol’ were the new judges. Unlike American Idol, contestants as young as twelve are allowed to compete in Cowell’s new show. These auditions will take place in arenas, filled with thousands of people.

Thirteen year old eighth grader, Rachel Crow was the first audition of the night. She says that she loves singing and does it everywhere she goes. She admitted that this audition is the most important thing she has ever done in her entire life. As she joked with the judges, Paula leaned all over Simon laughing, and it was deja vu from ‘American Idol’. Rachel shared that she wanted to win because her family has “like nooo money” and they live in a very small house. “I’m a girl!” she expressed, “and I need my own bathroom!” And then the young girl belted out an amazing rendition of “Mercy.”

The audience was on it’s feet, and the judges were thrilled. Paula told her that what she just did was exactly what they needed people to do, showed personality and then blew them away with her voice. Cheryl agreed, as did LA, who said she had everything that any artist he has ever seen has. Simon said that she had made him glad that he took the age down. “Remember these two words, ‘Rachel Crow’ because I think we are going to be hearing a lot about you,” he added. All four judges gave her a “Yes.” This little girl is definitely one to watch this season…she was amazing!
