X Factor Season Premiere: Dan and Venita
September 22nd, 2011 - 1:05 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonSep 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dan and Venita are aged 70 and 83 years old came out to audition as a duet last night on the Season Premiere of ‘X Factor’. New judges, Simon Cowell, LA Reid, Cheryl Cole, and Paula Abdul, were ready to find the star who would win the record breaking $5M contract with Sony records. Dan and Venita are a married couple, and Simon asked them what they would do with the money if they won.
Venita said they want to buy a travel home and play at senior centers. As Dan began to sing ‘Unchained Melody’, Venita danced. Although the singing was not so great, the judges could not help but smile at the couple. Before it was over, Simon was laughing, but respectfully.
Simon told them that they would always be remembered for that version. “It was terrifying. I can imagine me and Paula being you in the future,” he added. He told them that they were adorable, and that they did not give up. They received four no votes, but a lot of love from the judges.
