wyntonJan 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) America’s music ambassador and trumpet virtuoso Wynton Marsalis, made an appearance on “60 Minutes” yesterday. The band with which Wynton Marsalis went out on tour, was in Havana and London at the time the episode of “60 Minutes” was being shot. Jazz is completely an American form of music, and this particular show featured Wynton Marsalis spreading his music to people over all corners of the world. This is something that the artist considers to be his lifelong mission. He proved himself the worthy son of yet another legendary jazz pianist Ellis Marsalis, of New Orleans.

New Orleans is known to be the birthplace of jazz, the exclusive music of America. This group did not only perform in front of the host of media, they even taught people about the music. At the time they were having a show at Havana, the band’s saxophone player, Ted Nash patiently showed a young Cuban girl the manner in which soulful notes are played on that instrument. This saxophone player said that it was beautiful to travel, since it brings an opportunity to mix with different kinds of people. He went on to say that people are a kind of a rejuvenating factor for him, since they provide a lot of energy at the time these band members get tired and worn out.

Wynton Marsalis said that the arts could be called their collective human heritage. He even said that people could live their life better if they could get the real essence of what Shakespeare talked of in his writings. Looks like the trumpeter is absolutely right. He goes out to serve a worthy mission of his life. His “60 Minutes” appearance was beautiful and memorable.
