London, Aug 09 (ANI): Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean has prepared his plan of action if he wins the presidential elections from his native country.

The 37-year-old artist has laid out detailed changes that he will make to Haiti’s economy if he is successful in his bid for the country’s presidency, he wants to give power to the people by increasing farming.

The rapper is currently contesting elections for the president’s post in the impoverished nation, where he lived until he was nine, and reveals he is that he has already begun making plans to turn Haiti into a prosperous land after it was destroyed by the powerful earthquake in January 2010.

Jean wants to encourage people to move out of the capital city of Port-au-Prince and to start farming communities in the countryside where locals can support themselves.

“Each village would be associated with a different food - mango village, sugar cane village. If you can provide a job opportunity and a home for people you can start to decentralise Port-au-Prince,” The Daily Star quoted Jean as saying.

He will also emphasize education because as said by him, “until you learn to read and write, it’s called modern slavery.

“There’s nowhere to go but up in Haiti right now, because everywhere you look there’s disaster. So the first thing you do is engage education and job creation,” he added. (ANI)
