Wyclef Jean in no mood to give up presidential bid in Haiti
August 23rd, 2010 - 11:34 am ICT by ANINew York, Aug 23 (ANI): Wyclef Jean has said that he is not giving up his presidential bid just yet and has decided to send a lawyer to a Haitian court to appeal a decision rejecting his candidacy.
In a recent interview from his home in Croix des Bouquets, the hip-hop singer has said that lawyers will go to a Haitian court Monday to appeal with the national electoral dispute office, reports the New York Daily News.
Jean said that he has a document “which shows everything is correct” and that he and his aides “feel that what is going on here has everything to do with Haitian politics.”
The country’s elections board rejected Jean’s candidacy, presumably because he did not meet residency requirements. (ANI)
