Dec 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In the first match of the night, Dolph Zigler and Kofi Kingston went at it in a ladder match which ended up with Vickie atop the ladder screaming and Dolph having to save her. In the end, Dolph won, but only because of Jack Swagger’s interference.

The next match to come was the first ever Diva tables match. In order to win a tables match, one contestant of either team must be put through a table. It was between two tag teams, the first being LayCool, made up of Michelle McCool, and Layla, and the second team being made up of Natalya and Beth Phoenix

It did not take long for Beth to have both members of LayCool on her back, but she did not manage to put them through the table. Natalya managed to pull a double sharp shooter on Michelle and Layla, but even though they both begged and submitted, it was to no avail, because someone must go through the table in order for there to be a win. Natalya managed the win by throwing both members of LayCool through the table.

The hilarious team of Santino and Koslov made their way to the ring, to meet Slater and Gabriel of the Nexus. Gabriel soon had Santino in the ring, with both men seeming to be evenly matched in the battle. For every move Gabriel made, Santino seemed to have a counter, and vice versa. Soon Gabriel tagged Slater in, and the red head seemed to be getting the best of him, but Santino managed to tag in Koslov. Of course, when it seemed as though Santino and Koslov would win, Wade Barrett and the Nexus came out and attacked the two men.

The next match was a ladder match to win the contract for the number one contender for WWE Champion. The contract for the number one contender was hung above the ring, and in order to win, one contestant must climb the ladder and grab the contract before the other man could stop him. Sheamus and John Morrison made their way to the ring to fight for the contract. The two men battled their way in and out of the ring, but Morrison was the first to try climbing the ladder for the contract.

Sheamus soon jumped into the ring, and Morrison jumped off of the ladder, risking his very career, just to knock Sheamus down. The two men continued the fight with both of them taking a great deal of punishment. John Morrison came very close, on one injured knee, and Sheamus managed to knock him off the ladder, but Morrison was able to throw Sheamus out of the ring. It was a tremendous battle, but in the end, Morrison won it! John Morrison is the number one contender for the WWE Championship. Sheamus could be out for a while, since the match ended with him laying across a broken ladder, himself seeming broken in half as well.

A tables match between Randy Orton and The Miz soon followed. To win, one man must put his opponent through a table. Miz is the current WWE Champion, having taken the belt from Orton with his Money in the Bank Contract just after Orton had battled and won over seven men. Orton drug Miz all over the arena, in and out of the ring as Alex Riley followed them around in this no disqualification match. But Miz was able to come back and hold his own for a while against the Viper.

Randy Orton is a seven time World Champion, and fought like the super competitor that he was. As Miz and the referee were both unconscious on the floor, Orton put Alex Riley through the table. This move soon backfired, however, as the two men knocked Orton out, and then placed Orton on the broken table just as the referee woke up. Seeing Orton on the broken table, the referee called Miz the winner. The referee watched the replay, however, and started the match over, however, as soon as the bell began ringing, a series of mishaps made Orton fall through a table after being hit by Alex Riley when he was thrown by Miz. Since Orton went through the table, Miz was once again called the winner.

Rey Mysterio made his way to the ring wearing what appeared to be a ‘KISS’ costume. This is his first TLC match, but he has competed in a Ladder match before, against the late Eddie Guerrero. Of course, Alberto Del Rio came to the ring in his Rolls Royce as his personal ring announcer made his presence known in Spanish, as announcer Michael Cole asked “Can I press ‘1′ for English?”.

Edge, ‘The Rated ‘R’ Superstar’ marched out in a long black trench coat as the announcers reminded everyone listening of the battle between Edge and Kane, over the kidnapping of Kane’s father, Paul Bearer, by Edge. Kane walked out to meet his arch enemy, Edge, along with Rey and Alberto in this fatal four way match. The four men fought hard, with the control of the match switching hands many times, in the fight for the World Heavyweight Championship. Edge finally prevailed, joining an elite group of superstars. For the tenth time, Edge is the World Heavyweight Champion.

Dashing Cody Rhodes walked out in a dark suit, to give the Houston, Texas audience some of his grooming tips, only to be interrupted by Santa Claus…who was tossing gifts out of his huge bag. Santa was huge…the biggest Santa ever..’Big Show sized’. Santa ended up slamming Cody to the ring floor after a few degrading comments from the younger man about Big Show’s new movie, ‘Knucklehead’.

It was finally time for the much anticipated match between Wade Barrett of Nexus and John Cena. Cena has promised to take down every member of the Nexus and Barrett is the only one left. The match was a Chairs Match, in which chairs can be used as a weapon, but must be won by pin-fall or submission. As Cena came to the ring to meet his opponent, the crowd went wild.

Soon into the match, much to everyone’s surprise, Barrett managed to get a two count on Cena. This battle had been brewing for months, as Barrett forced Cena to join Nexus, and then treated Cena as a slave, forcing him to do things which he hated in order to keep his job with the WWE. Cena ended up being fired from the company which he loved because of Barrett, but Barrett was forced to hire Cena back when the Nexus threatened to quit if Barrett did not. Their reason for wanting Cena back? Cena was systematically attacking each one of them and promised to stop only if Wade hired him back. Now here they were, in the ring, finally addressing the issues between them.

Cena regained control of the match at one point, and went backstage to get an office chair. He placed the unconscious Wade in the wheeled chair, and quickly pushed him into the steel steps. It was what Cole called, “A most ingenious way to use a chair.” But Wade was once again able to bounce back and give Cena an unexpected run for his money. But the energy of the crowd seemed to feed John Cena, and he soon threw Wade and a chair both across the ring.

Cena soon ended up with both arms trapped in the ropes, as Wade beat him with a steel chair. The crowd began to cheer his name ad Cena fought his way out of the ring, but Wade was soon able to take charge again, with Cena just exhausted. Cena once again recovered, and placed a steel chair to the back of the neck of Barrett after jumping off the top rope.

John set up a half dozen chairs in two rows facing each other as Wade lay unconscious. After slamming Wade through those chairs, he fulfilled his promise, and took out the leader of Nexus…winning the match. Wade Barrett crawled out of the ring, as Cena followed him with the chair, hitting him repeatedly. The crowd was going insane, glad to finally see Cena get his revenge.
