WWE Smackdown: Rhodes vs Jackson

August 20th, 2011 - 1:57 pm ICT by Angela Kaye Mason

Aug 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It was the first ‘WWE Friday Night Smackdown event since ‘Summerslam’. As the show opened, the General Manager, Teddy Long made his way to the ring to weapon the New World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton. As Randy made his way to the ring, the WWE Universe went wild welcoming their new champ. He joked about how everyone was used to seeing Christian in the ring, whining, begging and fussing for the one more match. But he shared how he had beaten Christian so badly at Summerslam so badly that he was not able to be there last night begging for one more match. “Now, it’s all over,” he added. Teddy then informed Randy that there was to be a twenty man, over the top match to see who would be Randy’s next contender for the title.

Cody Rhodes stepped into the ring and told Randy that the ‘Legacy’ was now reunited in the ring. Legacy was made up of Randy, Cody, and Ted DiBiase. Rhodes shared that he was no longer a follower of Randy Orton, but was now a champion too. As he stated that he did not have to appease the masses liked Randy did and “could not care less about these hideous people” the crowd began to chant “You suck.” Rhodes went on to inform Randy that he planned to compete in the twenty man challenge, and eventually take Randy’s title. As Rhodes gave the mic to Ted, and Ted began to speak, Randy RKO’d Ted, and stared off Rhodes until Rhodes retreated.

Rhodes then demanded that Teddy Long punish Randy Orton, but instead, Long informed Rhodes that he would be competing against Ezekiel Jackson…next. As soon as the two men made to to the ring together, they locked up. Jackson brutally slammed Rhodes around the ring like a toy. Jackson managed to pin Rhodes several times, and Rhodes even managed to do the same. Jackson then bean to toss Rhodes around outside the ring. Rhodes managed to pull off a miracle in the end and pinned Jackson for the win.
