July 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) As an Eight Man Single Elimination Tournament was finishing up last night on ‘WWE Monday Night Raw’, the last two contenders were The Miz and Rey Mysterio. The tournament had been created by Vince McMahon in an effort to name the new WWE Champion. CM Punk had won the Championship from John Cena at the ‘Money in the Bank’ pay per view event over the weekend. Since Punk was leaving the WWE, there was no reigning champion. As the show drew to an end, Rey and Miz were to battle it out to see who the new champion would be.

As Rey took to the ring, Vince McMahon came out to interrupt the match, saying that he had something more important to do. Vince had warned John Cena that if he lost the title to Punk, he was fired, and Vince was determined to get that done before the show was over. The match between Miz and Rey would have to wait until next week.

Vince stated that not even John Cena is bigger than the WWE and although he does thank Cena for all he has done, “It’s a business move.” John Cena came out and refused to give Vince the satisfaction of going on a rant. He said he understands that he is fired, and he is okay with it, but that he is going out with his dignity. He let Vince know that if he cannot wrestle in the WWE, he will move on to another show and wrestle there. As Cena went to leave the ring, Vince stopped him.

“Oh no, you are not going to rob me of the satisfaction of what I am about to do,” Vince McMahon said to Cena. Before Cena could respond, Triple H himself made his way to the ring in a three piece suit. He beged Vince to go backstage and talk, but apparently it was not going to happen.

In tears, Triple H informed his father in law, Vince McMahon that he has just came from a meeting of the Board of Directors. He explained that the meeting was held because the Board was worried about the way things were being done..and mostly concerned about Vince McMahon’s “extremely questionable decisions as of late.” Triple H then dropped two bombshells, John Cena is not fired…and Triple H will be taking over the day to day operation of the WWE…Vince McMahon is relieved of his duties. As the show closed, tears poured down Vince’s face as the crowds cheered, “Thank you, Vince! Thank you, Vince!” bidding goodbye to the man who helped build the WWE to what it is today, and is apparently stepping down to hand the reigns over to the next generation.
