WWE Raw Championship Tournament: R Truth vs Swagger
July 19th, 2011 - 1:29 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonJuly 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) As last night’s ‘WWE Monday Night Raw got underway last night from Green Bay, an Eight Man Single Elimination Tournament was held to decide who would win the WW Championship title, which had been taken from John Cena at the ‘Money in the Back’ pay per view event on Sunday.
Since Punk was leaving the WWE, he took his belt with him, leaving the WWE with no Champ. The eight men would be Dolph Ziggler, Rey Mysterio, Jack Swagger, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, Alberto Del Rio, Alex Riley, and The Miz. The winner from last night’s event would be crowned WWE Champion.
After a win over Alex Riley by The Miz, R Truth and Jack Swagger were up for a match. The winner would move on to the semi finals. Both men took to the ring, and the match was underway.
Swagger dominated the match from the beginning, although R Truth did manage to kick several times. Suddenly, out of no where, R Truth rolled Swagger up for the three count and won the match. R Truth was on to the semi finals.
