Feb 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Alberto Del Rio won the Royal Rumble Sunday night just as he said he was destined to do. He made his way to the ring as WWE Monday Night Raw opened last night with a victory celebration which included a Mariachi band. He says he has something important to tell us.

As the winner of the Royal Rumble, Del Rio can choose who he wishes to face at Wrestlemania, the World Heavyweight Champion, or the WWE Champion. He chose to go for…well just as he was about to tell us, The Miz interrupted. The Miz is the WWE Champion, and Edge is the Heavyweight Champion. Miz, of course, wanted to tell Del Rio that he should choose Miz. He warned Del Rio that he plans to keep his belt until Wrestlemania, but that Edge would likely loose his first.

As Miz went on trying to convince Del Rio that Edge was degrading Del Rio, and had no respect for him after the Royal Rumble. Edge came out to interrupt the Miz. Edge told Alberto that the Miz was absolutely right, that he doesn’t like him nor respect him, but, “I wouldn’t say those things behind your back, I’d just come out here and say it to your face.” Del Rio said , “It is my destiny to be the greatest of the great, and at Wrestlemania, I will be the new… World Heavyweight Champion.”

“Congratulations, take this with you,” Edge said before punching Del Rio off his feet. A fight ensued between the two men which ended with Edge on the lying on the mat, and Del Rio celebrating once again. The road to Wrestlemania is indeed underway, and the next two months will be quite interesting.

The anonymous Raw General Manager emailed in and said, via Michael Cole, that there would, for the first time ever, be a Raw Royal Rumble match last night. Randy Orton, CM Punk, John Morrison, R Truth, Sheamus, Jerry the King Lawler, and John Cena would all be contenders. The winner from this match will go on to battle the Miz to be in the Elimination Chamber match in mid February which will determine who goes on to Wrestlemania.

A tag team match, between Vladimir Koslov & Santino against two Nexus members, Husky Harris & McGillicutti, was next. After some time, Santino and Koslow won the match, These two really sneak up on ya, and are actually much better than they are given credit for. After the match was over, Randy Orton came out and attacked the members of a team which cost him the title the previous night at Royal Rumble.

Just as Randy seemed to be about to really hurt Harris, CM Punk and a few other Nexus members came out to tell Randy not to hurt Harris. Punk said, “Randy I am not gonna beg you, but for once in your life take some advice, Don’t do it. If you kick Husky Harris in the skull, there will be serious consequences and repercussions…” Randy Orton seemed to be hearing the “voices in his head,” and the audience joined the chorus, egging him on. He went forward, and kicked Husky, and ran through the audience to escape CM Punk and the Nexus. That had to hurt!

Ted DiBiase came out to demand that Jerry The King Lawler give up his spot in the Wrestlemania match later in the night to Ted. He stated that Jerry should do so, since Jerry’s career was ending, and Ted was just beginning. But Jerry explained that he had been in the WWE for eighteen years, but had never had a chance to compete at Wrestlemania. So he feels his road to Wrestlemania begins right now. Jerry added that he would not give up his spot for anyone.

Just as Jerry was about to hit Ted, Ted pulled Maryese in front of him for protection. Jerry stopped just in time, but Maryese was livid. She slapped Ted and threw up her hand at him. Jerry then knocked Ted down. Uhoh, looks like trouble in paradise for Ted and Maryese.

Tyson Kidd and Daniel Bryan went at it next. The Bella Twins came out to the announcer’s table to discuss the fact that Daniel Bryan had shocked them by making it known that he has been secretly dating Gail Kim. The Bella twins were not happy at all about it. Daniel managed to make Kidd tap out, and won the match. The Bella twins went out to confront Bryan, and jumped on Kim. It took two referees and Bryan to pull the three apart.

The Miz’s match against Edge came up. An interesting match which pitted the WWE Champion against the World Heavyweight Champion, and the GM demands that there must be a winner. Edge went right to work on the Miz, with Alex Riley trying to help Miz out from the side lines. John Cena’s voice came from the stands to scream at Miz, chanting “Miz is awful,” making fun of the Miz’s line “I’m the Miz, and I’m Awesome!” While he was distracted, Edge won the match. Perhaps a bit of payback on the part of John Cena, who was unfairly taken out of the Royal Rumble Sunday night by Miz, who was not even in the match and had no business being in the ring.

The Great Khali made his way to the ring alongside Mark Henry for a tag team match againt the Uso brothers. The GM interrupted via Michael Cole to say that the Usos had no chance in the match. So instead of wrestling, the teams were to compete in a dance off. The WWE Universe would determine the winners. The Usos pulled off some pop in lock moves which were actually pretty good. Khali, who is 7′3” and Mark Henry, who is over 400 pounds went at it next, and even did “The Wave.” The Usos attacked the other two men, and were soon slammed.

In A Seven Man Raw Rumble match, seven men entered the ring much as in a Royal Rumble. The winner would face The Miz for the WWE Champiuonship, and the remaining six will compete in the Elimination Match. The winner of that match is on to Wrestlemania. John Morrison came first, with Sheamus meeting him in the ring.

John Cena was next to join the two men. With neither Sheamus or Morrison eliminating the other, Cena had two men to face going in. This is Cena’s second chance at Wrestlemania. As the three men went at it, CM Punk joined them. With no one eliminated yet, R Truth came in as number five. Jerry The King Lawler made it in as number six. He came in and just began to knock people down. Randy Orton was last into the ring.

Orton came in with a vengeance, looking for CM Punk. Orton eliminated Punk, but in the process was eliminated as well by R Truth, who was soon gone, and Morrison and Cena were battling on the ropes as Sheamus went back to work on Jerry. Soon Morrison was thrown out by Sheamus, and there were just three men left. As Sheamus caused Cena to be eliminated, bu Jerry Cena tuned and held the ropes down for Jerry to throw Sheamus out of the ring. And Jerry The King Lawler won! He will be fighting the Miz for the Championship!
