April 30, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): When prominent Hollywood actor, George Clooney, bought his lakeside villa in Italy, he might never have visualized that there would be unexploded World War II bombs only a few yards away. But that is precisely what was unearthed in the waters near the ‘Up In the Air’ superstar’s Italian abode.

In keeping with an account at aolnews.com, the unexploded WWII bombs were unearthed right in front of Clooney’s bountiful Italian manor, ‘Villa Oleandra,’, which is positioned on the western shore of Lake Como. Italian navy divers carried the explosives to the surface early on Wednesday.

Roberto Pozzi, mayor of Laglio, has expounded that Clooney was not supposed to have been in the zone at the time. Laglio, a hamlet of less than 1,000 inhabitants, is renowned for its series of lakeside villas. These often function as isolated safe havens for many dissimilar superstars.

Pozzi explicated that they obtained an alert by a neighborhood diver that there were some grenades right in front of Clooney’s villa.

Pozzi then confessed that he had dispatched an alert to the Villa workers. The alert articulated that they should depart from the manor. Pozzi uttered that approximately six people frequently function at the Villa Oleandra. Clooney acquired this villa in 2001.

The region, encircling the two-storey villa, was then cordoned off to permit bomb disposal squadrons to pick up the bombs. The bombs, which were located at a depth of 26 feet, were then transported to a harmless area where they were then set off.
