Woody Allen wins Golden Globe for best screenplay

Los Angeles, Jan 16 (IANS) Filmmaker Woody Allen won the best screenplay gong for his romantic-comedy “Midnight In Paris” at the 69th Golden Globes award ceremony here.
The movie, featuring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams and Kathy Bates in key roles, is about a family that travels to the French capital for business.
Allen defeated other competitors — Michel Hazanavicius (”The Artist”), Nat Faxon, Alexander Payne, Jim Rash (”The Descendants”), George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Beau Willimon (”The Ides Of March”), Stan Chervin, Aaron Sorkin and Steven Zaillian (”Moneyball”).
