woodstockSep 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Hurricane Earl had little impact on one of the most famous and popular music festival, Woodstock Fair in Woodstock. Braving the rain that was brought by the Hurricane Earl, thousands of people on Friday turned up at Woodstock to become a part of the fair. The fair that reportedly entered in its 150th anniversary on Friday, turned out to be a grand affair once again. The president of the Woodstock Fair organizer, Doug Young said to media sources early on Friday that a heavy rain was one of the things that the organizers did not want to happen on the opening day. However, the organizers are hopeful that the usual footfall will continue over the weekend.

Although Hurricane Earl left the fair venue unharmed, Doug Young maintained that the gathering at the fair had suffered a bit due to the rain. He held that although every year the crowd registration remains the minimum on Friday, there is no denying the fact that this year it has thinned due to the rain. Fearing Hurricane Earl and bad weather, fair officials have already the moved the firework show from Friday to Monday. Another 150th anniversary special event, the Civil War encampment was pushed to Saturday.

On Friday, it was “Remains” who rocked the crowd. Although the “Remains” are not so well known rock group, the Boston rock ‘n’ roll band was able to entertain the gathering. The band took the stage on Friday noon keeping in mind the bad weather condition. However, the departure from the original time schedule hardly made any difference as the crowds thronged the venue to become a part of the fair.
