“Wonder Woman” Will Return On The Small Screen

lynda-carter The ’super woman’ is all set to make a ravishing come back on the small screen. A new ‘wonder woman’ series will be returning on the TV, with David E. Kelly as writer and producer. The new series comes after three decades of the first series that was made famous by Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman in the 1970’s. David E. Kelly has reportedly signed a deal with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment to write and produce the new version of “Wonder Woman”. The first series starring Lynda Carter was aired from 1975 to 1979. An attempt was made in the 1990’s but the project was canceled due to casting reasons. A movie was also though of for which many actress such as Meagan Fox, Sandra Bullock and many others were reportedly considered but it never materialized.

The casting details of the new series is not yet known. Though audiences and critics alike will have certain expectations from the series and the new “Wonder Woman” will have to match up to the standards set by Lynda Carter. There are reports that the new “Wonder Woman” will have a different look. The revival of “Wonder Woman” on the small screen comes as a pleasing surprise to many.

Wonder Woman is originally a D.C. comics super-heroine created by William Moulton Marston, and made her first appearance in the year 1941. She has many super powers but apart from the entertainment factor, it is said that she was created as a “distinctly feminist role model whose mission was to bring the ideals of love, peace and sexual equality to a world torn by the hatred of men”.
