Washington , Mar 21 (ANI): Oprah Winfreys talk show is being taken to court by woman who allegedly got injured in a stampede when audience members rushed to grab the prime seats during a shoot.
The woman, namely Orit Greenberg, has claimed that she was pushed down a flight of stairs by other Oprah audience members as they rushed into Harpo Studios in Chicago , Illinois in December 2006, due to which she suffered serious injuries.
According to Greenberg, she and an “excess number of patrons” assembled in a waiting room before the show, and were later asked to enter the studio and sit “where they wanted”.
After this, Winfrey’s fans “rushed the gate” to the studio and thats when Greenberg claims that she got injured, reports Contactmusic.
According to TMZ.com, she has filed her complaint in Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois on 19th March and has accused Winfrey’s production company Harpo of failing to adequately control the crowd.
After suffering “severe and permanent injuries” from the incident, Greenberg is seeking over 50,000 dollars for medical care and other damages from Harpo and The Oprah Winfrey Show. (ANI)
