Woman bites pit bull to save her pet pooch!April 4th, 2008 - 4:14 pm ICT by admin
Melbourne , Apr 4 (ANI): An American woman saved her pet dog from a pit-bull attack by biting the bull back.
Amy Rice, from Minneapolis , bit the pit bull on the nose after trying to pull its jaws off her Labrador retriever, Ella, when it jumped over a fence into her yard and attacked the pooch.
“At some point the pit bull’s nose was in my face and I bit it,” the Daily Telegraph quoted Rice, as saying.
She said that she dig her teeth so hard on the pit bull’s nose, that it hurt her jaw and she could taste blood.
“It was just instinct. I guess I would have put myself between her and the pit bull had I known the dog was going to attack,” said Rice.
At the time of the attack, Amy was walking with her headphones on and didn’t come to sense what happened until the bull attacked Ella’s neck.
“She was just down on the ground, she was just screaming it was an awful noise,” she said.
The pit bull has been quarantined by the Minneapolis Animal Control in the US pending a 10-day wait to test for rabies, and if it tests positive, Rice will undergo a post exposure rabies vaccination.
“I’ve imagined in my head before what I would do if another dog would attack my dog and I never imagined that’s what it would come down to, but I knew I would do anything to protect her,” said Rice.
No criminal charges have been filed in the case as Ella recovers with staples and stitches to her head and a crushed ear canal. (ANI)
