Wizard Of Oz On Google Doodle

ozdoodleAug 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) All lovers of the immensely popular film The Wizard of Oz are synonymous with the fact that today the world celebrates the 71st birthday of the much beloved franchisee; and who do we have to honor this grand occasion? None other than search giant Google, coming in to add all the added hoopla to the event. As it is widely known, Google celebrates popular themes and events that is going round the web on their anniversary by portraying a creative doodle on their search page relating to the event. So there is noting surprising about the fact that Google is celebrating one of the most famous children’s tales ever told, The Wizard of Oz.

The 1939 film premiered at the Strand Theatre in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin on the August 12th. The onscreen adaptation is based on the novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written by L Frank Baum in 1900. Till date, it remains one of the most popular novels ever written for children. The characters of Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion had gained instant immortality in fiction right from the time of its release.

The anniversary Google doodle portrays a scene from the film which depicts the four popular characters at a standstill on a high point, catching and relishing their first ever glimpse of the Emerald City which is the capital city of the Land of Oz. The landscape of Emerald City is marked across with the word Google. The doodle is such that all Google users will find instant recognition with the film which is what Google aims to achieve with the doodle.
