NUP_139883May 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Yesterday Syfy channel aired a movie named ‘Witchville’. As is evident from the name the movie deals with witchcraft and is set in a medieval feudal setup. The plot is quite straightforward. The film stars Sarah Douglas, Ed Speleers and Luke Goss with other actors. Price Malachy inherits a kingdom from his father after he passes away. However, he finds to his dismay that the kingdom is plagued by the monstrosity of witches led by the Red Queen. He seeks the help of his knights and comes across witch hunter and together they set in the mission to eliminate the evil witches. The viewers will be delighted to see Ed Speleers since he looks absolutely sizzling as a knight.

However ‘Witchville’ does not end up as a must watch movie despite a tight storyline and decent performances by the actors. The fight scenes are at best, mediocre and the impact is not that strong that will keep you glued to your seat till the end. The professional witch hunter played by Simon Thorp is interesting and he steals the scenes. The witch hunter explains to the Price Malachy what is ailing his kingdom. He also reveals his frustration with the situation. The Red Queen who is the leader of the witches is an enigmatic character who lends the film its appeal. She also has a lovely daughter.

The war scenes are not exactly spectacular and there are a lot of movies that surpass this one in the realm of special effects. The movie is okay for an evening watch for the lovers of witchcraft.
