London, October 1 (ANI): Winnie-the-Pooh has got a new pal-a feisty otter named Lottie.

According to reports, the character appears on the cover of the forthcoming book Return To The Hundred Acre Wood, out on Monday.

Written by David Benedictus, it will be the first such book in over 80 years.

“It’s an honour to have created this new adventure for Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends and it seemed only right they have a new friend to enjoy such an adventure with,” the Daily Express quoted Benedictus as saying.

“Lottie the Otter truly embodies Winnie-the- Pooh’s values of friendship and adventure seen throughout Milne’s work, thus making the perfect companion for everyone’s favourite bear,” he added.

David Benedictus has taken over the mantle from AA Milne, the original author behind the tales about the honey-loving bear.

The children’s tales have been translated into 50 languages. Milne’s last story was published in 1928. (ANI)
