Winfrey to play brothel madam

London, Dec 9 (IANS) Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has been roped in to play a brothel madam in the big screen adaptation of Lynn Nottage’s Pulitzer prize-winning book “Ruined”.
The novel is about a woman in Congo who tries to stop women working for her from getting caught in the war between rebel armies and the country’s government. Winfrey will play Mama Nadi, contactmusic.com reports.
Winfrey, who was last seen in 1998 film “Beloved”, is best known for her performance in the 1985 release “The Colour Purple”.
