Winehouse punched a fan at Glastonbury gigJune 29th, 2008 - 12:57 pm ICT by IANS
London, June 29 (IANS) Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse punched a fan, spit gum into the crowd and also used a cuss word for rapper Kanye West while performing at Britain’s Glastonbury music festival. Her behaviour took a little shine off of what could have been a good comeback, thesun.co.uk reports. It wasn’t conclusive whether she was drunk or under the influence of other intoxicants, but she seemed very happy to be performing on stage.
The singer, who was last week diagnosed with the lung disease emphysema, belted out her hits and giggled at her wardrobe choice saying: “It took three women to get me into this dress. Girls, isn’t it funny how it takes so long to get ready but no time to get undressed. What’s that all about?”
Fans started booing her when she began talking about her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
But she defended him saying: “Don’t boo. I’ll find your phone and ring your mum and tell them about your bad manners. Manners cost you nothing.” Then she muttered something about never having loved a white man before adding: “When Blake came along he bashed me over the head with a cricket bat. Not literally.”
She then bad mouthed rapper Jay-Z and told the crowd to welcome him and to be grateful because they were getting rapper Kanye West as he is a “c***”. But she went overboard when she punched an audience member.
The three day Glastonbury fest started Friday.
