London, Oct 2 (IANS) Veteran singer Tony Bennett, who teamed up with Amy Winehouse for “Body and Soul” says the late singer had a feeling that she was near death.
“She knew that she was in a lot of trouble, that she wasn’t gonna live. It wasn’t drugs, it was alcohol till the end,” dailystar.co.uk quoted him as saying.
And Bennett is disappointed he’ll never get the chance to perform with her again: “She was the only singer that really sang what I call the right way.”
Bennett was thrilled to get the chance to perform with the tragic star at London’s Abbey Road studios for his hit new album “Duets II”.
Winehouse died in July. Her duet with Bennett was released Sep 14.
