William Shatner thinks that Star Trek is the best science fiction movie of all time
November 17th, 2011 - 10:41 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Nov 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) William Shatner has always insisted that Star Trek is the best science fiction movie of all time. Lovers of the genre have often been involved in the argument about the better between Star Trek and Star Wars. The two are considered the most successful science fiction franchises of all time.
Last September, Williams uploaded a video in which he gave several reasons why Star Trek is better than Star Wars. In the video, the 80-year-old stated emphatically that, “Star Trek supersedes Star Wars on every level.”
The argument did not go down well with everyone. Star Wars star Carrie Fisher has come in the defense of the franchise. Reacting to the video of Williams, Fisher said that, “They are not in the same league. i mean they have the word star in the title, and there is space travel. Where do they go to, Klingon? It just sounds like a laundry detergent.”
Williams recently appeared in an ad campaign for the insurance firm State Farm. The campaign which is dubbed “Eat, Fry, Love,” is aimed at creating awareness to the dangers that turkey fryers pose. The ad gives some tips on how to stay safe while frying turkey.
William is a victim of turkey fryer accident in the past.
