Hollywood, June 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) William Shatner has confirmed that he will not be part of the next installment of Star Trek. “Star Trek 2” is expected to start filming in 2012 but during an interaction in Canada recently, Shatner admitted that his days with the Star Trek franchise might be over.

A fan posed a question to Shatner asking if he plans to be part of the next Star Trek movie. In replying the question, Shatner said he will not be part of the movie. He was emphatic saying that, “I’ve been an acquaintance of J.J. but I’m afraid no, no, I will not be in Star Trek 2.” That effectively ends the hopes of his fans who wished that Shatner will be part of the movie.

Shatner is busy working on other projects. His latest book “Shatner Rules: Your Key to Understanding the Shatnerverse and the World at Large” is expected to hit the bookstores in October. He also has other projects on television and documentaries coming up. Next month, the documentary “The Captains” which was produced by Shatner will hit the screens. He will also be a guest star on the comedy “Psych.” In the particular episode, Shatner will be a con man and a father of a detective.
