Perez Hilton Celebrity gossip columnist and blogger Perez Hilton claims to have been assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards.

In a series of messages sent over the microblogging network Twitter, Hilton said: “I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”

Moments later came: “I spoke to my lawyer. I really need to talk to the authorities. Please come to the SoHo Met Hotel. Have called the police. Need them here.

Followed by: “The Toronto police are here now. Thank you. Please stop calling them”, and “Thank u all from the bottom of my heart for ur concern. The police are investigating the assault now. I did the right thing by reporting it.”

The celebrity gossip hack claimed to be in shock following the alleged assault and sent the following message to his one million plus Twitter followers: “I can handle a verbal assault. But to hit me? To make me bleed? No. I can’t and won’t accept that.”

However, a Tweeter identity purporting to be the real Will Adams, aka Will.I.Am, posted a denial on Hilton’s twitter feed calling him ”a liar” and linking to a video rebuttal on his http://dipdive.com website.

A visibly upset Adams denied hitting Hilton, as well as accused him of publicity seeking.

“This dude twists it. He was the one who called me a faggot outside of the club. I hit you? Come on Perez, I didn’t hit you,”

“Shame on you, shame on your behavior and that’s just messed up. Peace”, the 34-year-old rapper, songwriter, singer, actor, front-man and founder of the hit hip hop and pop soul group The Black Eyed Peas said.

On his newly created Twitter page, which had attracted almost 6,000 followers within four hours, Adams said “this is dude is crazy…he will go to any length to get press… wow…!!!!”

In January 2008 Will.I.Am wrote Yes We Can in support of the 2008 U.S. presidential campaign of Barack Obama. The lyrics of the song and video racked up seven million viewers and won an award at the 35th Annual Creative Arts and Entertainment Daytime Emmy Awards for “New Approaches in Daytime Entertainment.

Hitlon was presenting an award in Toronto for the Muchmusic awards when the alleged attack happened.

Just before the alleged attack, Hilton was asking his Twitter followers if there was a gay bar in the Canadian city where he and Lady GaGa could go and have some safe fun.
