Will.i.am is against new Michael Jackson album
August 4th, 2010 - 9:10 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Aug 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Will.i.am of the famous band Black Eyed Peas has voiced his disapproval of plans to launch a new album for Michael Jackson later in the year.
He said tracks that were never released by the King of Pop shouldn’t be released after his death because it doesn’t have his approval. He made the statements in an interview with the Associated Press.
It ought to be mentioned that Will.i.am partnered with Michael Jackson to work on a couple of tracks before his death and the new album is set to featured tracks on the Thriller re-release in 2008 that was remixed by Jackson and the Black Eyed Peas frontman.
He said Jackson was very demanding when it came to his own music and wanted every individual detail to be perfect. He believes the impending album is not done in a way Jackson himself would have been pleased with.
He said it’s not respectful of Jackson’s memory to release an album like that and as a friend he’s concerned about it. He said that, “I don’t think that should ever come out. Now that he is not part of the process, what are they doing? Why would you put a record out like that? Because he was a friend of mine, I just think that’s disrespectful. What’s wrong with what he already contributed to the world?”
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Frank DiLeo who managed Jackson in the past, said that 10 unreleased tracks will feature on the new album set to be released by Sony Music in November.
