The men who gave us this iconic movie are none other than Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Abhijaat Joshi. After winning accolades, Vidhu Vinodh Chopra promised to keep the legacy of Munnabhai going on.

So just when is the third installment of this slapstick comedy going to come out?

An insider says that, the movie is not been even written and no further measures are taken to carry the hit franchise forward.As far as Sanju Baba is concerned, the Munnabhai franchise is a way for him to stay alive. When asked about the next release, he maintains the fact that it will be released in “2010 or mid 2011″. The truth is that the production team is suffering from a writer’s block, after the Munnabhai chale America got canned , since the same concept was developed into My name is Khan . As of now, there is nothing exciting happening on the Munnabhai front.

Rajkumar Hirani has his hands full with the movie Broken Horses, which will start filming in September 2010, while his assistant Rajesh Mapuskar is finding a way to get Sharman Joshi in his movie Ferrari ki Sawari. Even this movie maybe kept on hold if there is going to be major changes in the casting.

Let’s hope that we get to see our beloved Munnabhai and Circuit on the silver screen soon.
