Will Smith, Steven Spielberg to team up for film?
November 9th, 2008 - 11:13 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Nov 9 (IANS) Hollywood filmmaker Steven Spielberg and actor Will Smith may be teaming up for a remake of Korean director Chan-Wook Park’s 2003 film “Oldboy”. According to Variety magazine, American film studio DreamWorks is in the process of securing the remake rights, reports Hollywood.com.
In the original, a man is kidnapped and held in a dingy hotel room for 15 years without explanation. Suddenly, he’s released with money, a cell phone and clothes as he sets off to find out who destroyed his life and take his revenge.
The film also won a slew of international awards, including the Cannes Grand Jury Prize.
