Nov 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Oscar nominated screenwriter of ‘Monster’s Ball’ is said to be in critical condition after he miraculously survived being hit by a New York subway train.

Will Rokos was nominated for the Academy Award for the hot box office hit from 2001 which starred Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thornton, known as “Monster’s Ball”. He was waiting for the Number 2 train at the fourteenth street station, located on Seventh Avenue on Saturday, and leaned over to look down the tunnel.

Just then, the Northbound train appeared, and smacked into his head, which knocked him flying back onto the platform, according to the ‘Daily Mail’. The train’s driver stated that although he saw Rokos, he simply could not stop in time. Witnesses shared that Rokos tried to get up after landing on the platform, but they kept him still until help could arrive. He is said to be listed in critical but stable condition at Bellevue Hospital as of Sunday.
