New York City, Dec 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rumors of Jerry Seinfeld replacing Conan O’Brien on ‘The Tonight Show’ have surfaced. Conan O’Brien might be out of ‘The Tonight Show’ soon, as there is mounting speculation that the 1954 born Jerry Seinfeld is set to replace Conan O’Brien on ‘The Tonight Show’. This is because Conan O’Brien’s ratings have been increasingly going down in the recent months, and NBC has now been forced to take some drastic steps to rectify the situation.
According to reports, “NBC just can’t carry on like this. ‘The Tonight Show’ has lost 52 percent of its viewership in just one year. The November ratings will be the show’s lowest in 15 years. They would be idiots to not be having the replacement conversation.”
However Conan O’Brien’s agents are saying that this speculations and rumors are not true at all. Even the NBC spokesperson Drew Shane said that, “Completely false. There are no conversations happening. Conan is the host of the ‘Tonight Show.’”
It may be recalled that “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” host Conan O’Brien was injured in September, when he was shooting a stunt for the show. However it was not a major accident at all. O’Brien was hurt while he was running down a flight of stairs as part of a skit being taped for Friday night’s show. He rose to fame as the host of NBC’s show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien from 1993 to 2009. Prior to his hosting career, O’Brien was a writer for Saturday Night Live and the famous animated series The Simpsons. Conan had taken over the hosting duties of ‘The Tonight Show’ from Jay Leno in June.

The reason it won’t work -
Jerry’s fascination with Superman is not just shtick – it is consistent with his personality. Both Jerry and Superman are invulnerable. It is impossible for Jerry to surrender being the objective observer; enforcing his perception on reality. It came across awkwardly in the Seinfeld show when he enforced his perception of himself on others. His need to be the long suffering magnanimous overlord in his relationships is what had him always picking up the dinner check, being taken advantage of by Kramer and everyone including his parents. Every talk show host back to Jack Paar was capable of vulnerability. Jerry – taking a pie in the face just doesn’t work. His personality collapses if he is touched. He is Superman. When it comes to having a sense of humor about himself, Jerry is as humorless as Jesse Jackson on race or Muslim extremists are on the absurdity of doctrine.
