Will Arnett- Geared up like always
June 16th, 2009 - 10:00 pm ICT by GDWill Arnett is finishing all his current projects starting from Disney romantic comedy, When in Rome, he voiced over the English teacher in Sit Down, Shut Up on the Fox network. Will Arnett and Amy Poehler became parents to a son, recently, but Will’s work has not stopped for a minute. He enjoys the parenthood position in his life as much as he enjoys acting and producing. He won the best supporting actor in a Comedy Series 2005-06 in Ivy Awards, Emmy awards nominated him for best supporting actor in a comic role once again and SAG TV Awards had 2 nominations as Outstanding performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy series, for 2 consecutive years, 2004 and 2005.
Will Arnett surely became popular with the character Gob in Sopranos. His grave voice has made him give many voice-over work on CBC channel for film trailers, advertisements, TV promos. Arnett’s mother was the first person to comic talent in her son which is when he moved to New York to pursue his acting career. For Arnett, his influences are Steve Martin and Chevy Chase .
Though he was interested in drama, he had to work to earn his living, which is why he decided to work on sitcom pilots. The Mike O’Malley Show was one such show, but apparently failed in ratings, thus was canceled just after 2 episodes. This resulted in the heartbreak of Will and he felt that his career is doomed. He gave into heavy drinking but with the advice of another friend he started working. He admits that he has not got proper roles to act on, did not work for sometime as he was never recognized for his work, but his upcoming projects are surely placing him in a secure position through which he can start proving himself all over again.
