Olivier Wilde, the 25 year-old wife of an Italian castle-owning prince has edged out the likes of Megan Fox, Bar Refaeli, Malin Akerman, Mila Kunis, Eliza Dushku, Adriana Lima, Rihanna, Jordana Brewster and Jennifer Love Hewitt to take the number one position on Maxim’s annual Hot 100 list.

No uncomfortable with controversy, Wilde first set tongues wagging when she eloped with her husband at the age of 18. In 2004 she did the same when she helped Mischa Barton’s character Marissa Cooper unleash her bisexuality on The O.C. – a passionate onscreen kiss for which she told PEOPLE in 2007 she continues “to get letters from girls around the world”.

In her current role as Dr. Hadley in the Fox medical drama House, she plays a bi-sexual doctor with a neurological disorder that causes her to engage in casual sex.

The wife of Prince Tao Ruspoli, whose family owns Rome’s Palazzo Ruspoli and a castle in Vignanello, Italy, Wilde would appear to have more than just the looks to be this years screen queen of hotness.

Prior to the award being announced Wilde, who only made it to number three on the list last year said, “I’m considered sexy even though I’m wearing a lab coat every day. That really says something. Playing someone who is not defined by her looks and being considered hot, that really makes me feel good.”

Movie goers will get to see more of Wilde in this years release of the biblical spoof Year One, where she stars alongside Jack Black and Michael Cera.
